Confusing Capitalism

Contrary to what Gordon Gecko extolled, greed is not good; however, let’s not confuse capitalism with profiteering. A truly free market system allows for an exchange of justifiable products and services between informed participants. I say informed, because an educated individual makes solid choices based on values and needs not indiscriminate impulses.

If you ask me, (and I know nobody did, but its my blog and I can spout off if I want) it’s the rampant and insane merchandising that is skewing the market. That’s why we need an educated public. We need to be able to call bullshit on some of this arbitrary crap that we continually load ourselves up with. I am certainly all for unique and innovative products, but come on, let’s be real, do we need all the junk in the aisles!

But I don’t blame the system, I blame the player.

We need to stop with the foolish choices.
